Oklahoma driver's license fees

Taking the tests is free. You pay once you pass: $42.50 for a learner permit or a first Class D license, as of October 2026, plus $4 for every test you failed along the way. Teens moving from a permit to an intermediate license pay $25. These Oklahoma driver's license fees come from the fee table in the Oklahoma Driver Manual, effective June 1, 2025, and from Service Oklahoma's own pages.

What are the Oklahoma driver's license fees for cars and motorcycles?

The examiner collects the fees once you've passed everything, and you can pay at Service Oklahoma or a licensed operator. Service Oklahoma says some locations take only cash, cashier's check, money order or credit card, so check with your office first.

How much does a driver's license cost in Oklahoma from start to finish?

For a teen with no fails, the state fees add up to $67.50 by our count: $42.50 for the learner permit, then $25 for the intermediate license, which Service Oklahoma charges as a replacement fee. Service Oklahoma's Drive Test Center page says permit holders who pass the drive test pay that fee plus $4 for each earlier fail.

An adult who skips the permit pays $42.50 when they pass the drive test, plus $4 for each failed try. Driver education, if you take it, is extra and priced by the school or provider.

Costs Service Oklahoma doesn't set

  • A drive test with a designated examiner at a driving school. The manual says Service Oklahoma gives the drive test at no charge, while designated examiners charge a fee.
  • Driver education. Commercial schools and parent-taught providers set their own prices.
  • CDL skills tests with a third-party examiner, who sets their own rate.

Records and other fees

A copy of your own three-year driving record costs $25, or $28 certified, and it's free at 65 and older. The driving record page has how to order it.
