ACER GAMSAT practice tests and official materials

The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) sells the only official GAMSAT preparation material, and its Practice Test A e-book comes with your registration. Each ACER GAMSAT practice test e-book covers the full Humanities and Biological Sciences sitting, about 4 hours and 10 minutes, with answers. The online versions run in a copy of the real test screen with a timer.

Prices are from ACER’s 2026 Information Booklet. You buy through an ACER account, and you don’t have to be registered for the test to do it.

The e-books hold authentic GAMSAT questions from past papers, picked to match the 2026 test. The online tests use new questions that aren’t in the e-books, and show what you got right and wrong at the end.

Is there a free ACER GAMSAT practice test?

Not on its own. Practice Test A is free only in the sense that it comes with your registration fee. ACER’s free material is its set of preparation videos, which show how GAMSAT questions are built, and the online platform demo in your ACER account once you’ve registered. The demo uses questions from ACER’s Practice Questions publication, isn’t marked, and you can open it as often as you like.

GAMSAT practice test PDFs and past papers

ACER’s e-books come only as PDFs, and they’re where its past-paper questions are. Each purchase gives you 12 months of online access and the right to make two printed copies, which carry your name. The material is copyright, so sharing it is against the licence you agree to when you buy, and ACER treats publishing or passing on GAMSAT questions as misconduct.

GAMSAT books and study guides

The free official guide is ACER’s GAMSAT Information Booklet. It covers registration, the sections, test day rules, scoring and how schools in each country use results, but it has no practice questions. Prep companies also publish GAMSAT books, such as Gold Standard’s series, and those are listed with their courses.
