How much does the GAMSAT cost?

In 2026 the GAMSAT cost A$568 to register in Australia (including GST), €378 in Ireland and £296 in the UK, paid in full by Mastercard or Visa when you register. Anyone sitting outside Ireland or the UK pays in Australian dollars, and the Singapore test centre adds an A$208 overseas levy.

These are ACER’s 2026 fees. People sitting outside Ireland and the UK pay in Australian dollars, at the exchange rate when they book. ACER’s fee notes describe the A$208 overseas levy as a charge for centres outside Australia, Ireland and the UK, and its centre list marks it against Singapore, so check the total in your account before you pay if you’re sitting in New Zealand. In October 2026 ACER’s site listed fees for 2026 sittings only.

What the GAMSAT cost covers

ACER says the fee pays for your seat at the venue, the test setup and the supervision, all booked ahead from registration numbers. It also includes ACER’s Practice Test A e-book.

Can you get a GAMSAT refund?

You get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of registering. After that, and up to the close of late registration, the refund administration fee is taken off. After late registration closes, refunds are only possible within that 14-day period, or where the law, such as the Australian Consumer Law, requires one. Changing your mind, or no longer needing a score because you’ve had an offer, doesn’t count.

Refunds go back to your card in the currency you paid. If you defer, you can still ask for a refund only up to the original refund deadline.

Other costs to plan for

  • ACER’s practice materials, from A$22 to A$62 each in 2026, beyond the e-book that comes with registration.
  • The GEMSAS application fee, $275 for the 2027 intake, if you apply to its schools.
  • Casper, if you apply to Notre Dame or Wollongong.
  • A small whiteboard, or a laminated A4 sheet, and a marker if you want one.
