ACER GAMSAT login and registration

You register for the GAMSAT through an account with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). The same ACER GAMSAT login is where you book your essay session, find your Admission Ticket and get your results. Registration opens one sitting at a time, and you pay in full by Mastercard or Visa when you register.

How to register for the GAMSAT

  1. Create an ACER account. Your name and date of birth must match the ID you’ll show on the day exactly, because they’re printed on your results.
  2. Choose the sitting and fill in the registration form, accepting the terms in ACER’s Information Booklet.
  3. Pick a test centre city, a day and a morning or afternoon session for Humanities and Sciences. Seats go on a first in, first served basis.
  4. Pay online by Mastercard or Visa. ACER emails a confirmation and a receipt.
  5. Book your Written Communication session with ProctorU through your registration dashboard.
  6. Add your ID details, or you won’t be able to open your Admission Ticket later.

If you have a disability or a health or educational need, apply for reasonable adjustments in your account after you register, by the deadline for your sitting. You need to apply again for every sitting.

What can you do after an ACER GAMSAT login?

  • Change your test centre, date or session, free until standard registration closes.
  • Book or change your essay session with ProctorU.
  • Defer to the next sitting, or ask for a refund.
  • Open the online platform demo and buy practice materials.
  • View your Admission Ticket, under Manage, then View Admission Ticket.
  • Tick UK or Ireland and add your Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) Personal ID or Central Applications Office (CAO) number if you’re applying there.
  • See your Statement of Results.

Trouble logging in or no activation email?

ACER suggests trying a different browser and checking your junk or spam folder for the activation email. Some government, university and school email domains block its emails, so it advises against using them. If you’ve forgotten your password, the “Reset my password” button on the login page sends a reset link to your registered email.

ACER’s GAMSAT contact page gives an email address, not a phone number: gamsat@acer.org. Include your full name and GAMSAT ID number. Emails are answered Monday to Friday, generally within 24 hours, and more slowly in busy periods. If your message includes personal details, or you need to change your name, date of birth or gender, use the messaging system in your ACER account instead.

Deferring or cancelling

You can defer once, to the next March or September sitting, by the deferral deadline. Deferring keeps your access to the materials that came with registration. Cancelling is done by asking for a refund in your account, and it ends that access. The deadlines and fees for both are on the cost page.
