GAMSAT results: when they come out and how long they last

March sittings get their results in late May and September sittings in mid November, in your Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) account. ACER emails you when they’re ready. GAMSAT results can be used for up to four years in Australia and two years in the UK and Ireland.

When are GAMSAT results released?

March 2026Late May 2026
September 2026Mid November 2026
March 2027Not published

ACER gives a month, not a day. Results for 2027 sittings will be in its 2027 timetable.

How to check your GAMSAT results

  1. Wait for ACER’s email saying results are ready.
  2. Log in to your ACER account and open your Statement of Results.
  3. Save and print a copy. No paper copy is posted, and you get one statement per sitting.

Statements stay in your account for up to four years, under the name and date of birth you registered with. Universities check your results with ACER directly.

How long are GAMSAT results valid?

Four consecutive years in Australia and two in the UK and Ireland, except Ulster University, which accepts four. In practice that meant:

  • GEMSAS 2027 intake: sittings from September 2022 to March 2026.
  • GEMSAS 2028 intake: sittings from September 2023 to March 2027.
  • UK courses starting in 2027: March 2025 to September 2026.
  • Ireland, applying in 2026: September 2024 to March 2026.

GEMSAS doesn’t accept a September sitting for the intake you apply to that same year. The September test is timed for the UK cycle and the March test for Australia and Ireland, but either result can be used anywhere.

Which result counts if you’ve sat more than once?

Unless you say otherwise, the admissions bodies and universities take your highest set of scores. GEMSAS is different: you nominate one GAMSAT ID in your application and can’t change it afterwards, so pick the sitting you want before you submit.

When results can be withheld

ACER can withhold or cancel scores if it believes the test rules were broken, including exposure to GAMSAT test content. It names coaching courses that show you real test questions as a risk.
