Motorcycle practice test for the UK theory test

This free motorcycle practice test has 20 multiple-choice questions for the UK theory test, written from the Highway Code and Know Your Traffic Signs, and three of them show a sign. It doesn’t cover hazard perception. The real test has 50 questions and needs 43 right, so here you need 18 of 20, which keeps the bar at least as high. Pick an answer to see why it’s right, and anything you miss comes back at the end.

Question 1 of 20
White circle with a black diagonal band running from top right to bottom left.

You’re riding a motorcycle on a single carriageway road and pass this sign. What’s the fastest you may ride?

20 practice questions in the style of the theory test.

How close is this motorcycle practice test to the real one?

The real multiple-choice part has 50 questions in 57 minutes, at a theory test centre. These 20 are ours, not DVSA’s, and they aren’t from its revision bank. They test the same rules in different words, so a good score means you’re on track, not that you’ll pass.

They follow the test’s seven sections: road rules and signs, the rider, the road, other road users, licences and incidents, your bike, and the environment. Hazard perception is a separate part, with its own pass mark of 44 out of 75.

Then take DVSA’s free mock tests

DVSA has two free mock motorcycle theory tests, each with 50 questions, the 57-minute limit and the 43-mark pass, plus 3 free hazard clips. GOV.UK says its practice questions aren’t used in the real test but cover the same topics. They’re a good full-length check once these 20 feel easy.
