What can you do on weekends when the Oregon DMV isn't open?
These all work online, at any time:
- Take the Class C or motorcycle knowledge test at home
- Book, change or cancel an office appointment
- Replace a lost license or permit, or change your address
- Renew your license, if you qualify for online renewal
Office hours
DMV doesn't post one set of hours for every office, because some have non-standard hours. Check the office's own page before you go. If you're taking the knowledge test, get there at least an hour before closing, when testing stops.
Where the offices are
DMV's 60 offices run from Albany to Woodburn, including Beaverton, Bend, Eugene, Grants Pass, Gresham, Hillsboro, Medford, Ontario, Salem and several in Portland. A few small towns, like Condon and Heppner, have offices too. Not every office gives drive tests.
Who runs Oregon's DMV
Oregon DMV stands for Driver & Motor Vehicle Services, a division of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). It handles both driver licenses and vehicle titles and registration. People sometimes search for an Oregon department of licensing or DPS. Neither exists for drivers here; DMV handles it all.
Contacting DMV
Call 503-945-5000, or 711 for the TTY relay. Customer Assistance takes calls Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mail goes to Oregon DMV, 1905 Lana Ave NE, Salem, OR 97314.
