Getting an Oregon replacement driver's license

If your license is lost, stolen or damaged, you can order a new one online through DMV2U. You answer some security questions, pay $30, or $60 for a REAL ID, and print a receipt that proves you can drive until the card arrives by mail. An Oregon replacement driver's license needs an office visit only if you're changing your name or switching to a REAL ID.

How do you get an Oregon replacement driver's license online?

  1. Go to DMV2U's replacement service.
  2. Answer the security questions.
  3. Pay the replacement fee.
  4. Keep the online receipt as temporary proof of your driving privileges. The new license is mailed to the address DMV has on file.

Many agencies, including the TSA and the Social Security Administration, don't accept that receipt as ID. If you're flying soon, bring a passport.

Replacing it at a DMV office

Make an appointment or walk in for standby service, and bring proof of identity. You get an interim card that day, and the license comes by mail. You must go in person to change your name, which needs proof of your full legal name, or to switch to a REAL ID.

Changing your address

Address changes are free online. DMV asks you to tell it within 30 days of moving. Licenses aren't forwarded, so if you lose your card after a move, update the address before ordering a replacement.
