How do you pass the motorcycle permit test?
- Get your own state’s manual. The questions come from it, and California and New York add questions from their car manuals.
- Learn the numbers: following distance, how much stopping power the front brake gives, the angle for crossing tracks.
- In New York, study the road signs. A total of 14 out of 20 still fails if you miss 3 of the 4 sign questions.
- Take a practice test, then reread the sections behind every miss.
- In California, don’t bring notes or your phone into the test. Using any testing aid fails the test.
