Vermont permit practice test

This Vermont permit practice test has 20 free questions written from the Vermont Driver’s Manual, with four choices each. The real test is the same length and you need 16 right, so 16 is a pass here too. Six of the questions show a sign or signal. Pick an answer to see why it’s right, and anything you miss comes back at the end.

Question 1 of 20

You have a Vermont learner’s permit. Who may sit beside you while you drive?

20 practice questions in the style of the permit test.

How close is this Vermont permit practice test to the real one?

The format matches: 20 multiple-choice questions, four answers each, one correct, and 16 right to pass. The questions are different. These are ours, written from the manual, not the DMV’s, so treat a pass as a sign you’re on track rather than a promise.

Most of them come from Chapter 7, Driving Safely and Studying for Your Permit. Three cover the permit and junior license rules in Chapters 4 and 5, and one the point system in Chapter 8.

Then take the DMV’s own practice exam

DriveVermont, the DMV’s free web tutorial, ends with the DMV’s practice exam, and the manual says it looks very similar to the real test. It’s a good second check after these 20. The where-to-learn page shows how to use it, along with the manual’s audio and translated versions.
