Other costs before you can book

Book on GOV.UK

The official booking service is on GOV.UK, and there the fee is £23. If a website asks for more, you’re not on the official service, so check the address before you pay.

What does the theory test cost if you fail or move it?

If you need to change your test, give at least 3 full working days’ notice. Sundays and public holidays don’t count. Change it later than that and you’ll have to pay again.

Turning up late, or without your licence, also means the test is cancelled and you lose the fee. If you fail, the theory test costs £23 again for the next attempt.
