Does Maricopa County, Arizona require ServSafe certification?

Chapter VII of the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code (revised August 19, 2026) says each food establishment shall have at least one CFPM on staff, who must be a full-time employee of that permitted establishment. If your CFPM leaves, you have 90 days to replace them. Establishments serving only non-TCS foods are exempt.

The county's food page goes further, saying the person in charge shall be a CFPM and must be on site during hours of operation. The code says only at least one on staff, so ask the county which it expects of your business. Keep the certificate visible or readily available at the establishment.

Which exams count
