How do you send SAT scores after the free window?
Standard reports reach colleges 5 to 10 business days after you order. Rush delivery takes 1 to 4 business days and costs $31 on top of the report fee, and it only works for scores that are already out. Ask the college first, because some only look at scores on set dates. You can’t cancel an order once it’s placed.
- Sign in to your College Board account and go to Send SAT Scores.
- Search for each college or scholarship program by name or code.
- Choose which test dates to send, then check out. You pay one fee per college, even if you send several test dates to it.
Score Choice: which scores colleges see
If you’ve taken the SAT more than once, Score Choice lets you pick which test dates to send when you order reports. If you don’t use it, College Board sends your scores from your last six SAT dates. A whole test date is always sent together, so you can’t send Math from one date and Reading and Writing from another.
Your 4 free reports only include the test date you registered for, unless you ask to add more. Some colleges and scholarship programs want all your scores, so check each one’s rules. Others superscore, which means they combine your best section scores from different dates.
Things to know before you send
- Colleges won’t accept a printout or a screenshot of your scores. They need an official report from College Board.
- Applying to more than one campus in the same university system? Send your scores to each campus, even if the system shares them.
- With a fee waiver, you can send as many reports as you like for free.
- Your high school always gets all your scores. The colleges on your free list are shared with your school and district too.
