The electrical PE exam

NCEES runs it as Electrical and Computer, in three versions: Power; Electronics, Controls and Communications; and Computer Engineering. Power is the only electrical PE exam offered year-round, with 80 questions. The other two have 85 questions in 8.5 hours and run on one day a year. Each costs $400.

Which electrical PE exam is yours?

Power covers power systems: electrical safety, protection, machines, transmission and distribution, with the NEC and NESC on screen. Electronics, Controls and Communications and Computer Engineering are for engineers in those fields. NCEES has posted specifications for each; read the topic list and pick the one that matches your work.

Before the PE: the FE Electrical and Computer

The FE has an Electrical and Computer discipline: 110 questions, year-round, $225. It covers the whole field, not one module.
