Louisiana driver’s license practice test

This Louisiana driver’s license practice test has 20 free questions written from the OMV’s Class D & E Driver’s Guide, the book the real knowledge test comes from. The real test has 40 questions and you need 80%, so here that’s 16 of 20. Six questions show a sign. Pick an answer to see why it’s right, and anything you miss comes back at the end.

Question 1 of 20

You have a Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP). Who may you drive with?

20 practice questions in the style of the knowledge test.

How close is this Louisiana driver’s license practice test to the real one?

The pass mark is the same, 80%, and so is the book. The real test is twice as long, at 40 questions, and covers traffic signs and signals, safe driving and Louisiana driving laws. These aren’t the OMV’s questions, so treat a pass here as a sign you’re on track, not a promise.

State law says every knowledge test has at least two questions on railroad crossing safety. Two of these 20 are about railroad crossings too.

Where to study after these 20

The OMV doesn’t publish a practice test of its own. For anything you miss, go back to the chapter of the Driver’s Guide it came from. The where-to-learn page has a study plan that follows the guide and compares practice apps.
