UCAT ANZ: the Australia and New Zealand test

It's the version of the UCAT that universities in Australia and New Zealand use, with its own website and timetable. The subtests, questions and timings match the UK test. What changes with UCAT ANZ is the dates, which are earlier, the fees, in Australian dollars, centre-only testing, and a Situational Judgement score from 300 to 900 instead of a band. You can't sit both versions in the same year.

As of October 2026, the 2027 dates haven't been published. UCAT ANZ makes no exceptions to its deadlines.

UCAT ANZ fees

The concession is for people named on a current Australian Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, including dependants. You apply first and get a voucher code to use when you pay. It isn't available for tests outside Australia, and a Medicare card or a New Zealand Community Services Card doesn't count.

Should you sit the UCAT or UCAT ANZ?

If you're applying in Australia or New Zealand, even if you're also applying to the UK, sit UCAT ANZ: universities there accept only UCAT ANZ results. If you're applying only to UK universities or the UCAT's international partners, sit the UK UCAT. Sitting both in the same year counts as misconduct.

To use a UCAT ANZ result at UK universities, complete the UCAT ANZ Results Collection Form (the 2026 deadline was 22 October).

How booking and test day differ

  • You book through a UCAT ANZ Pearson account. If you've had one before, use it again: more than one account isn't allowed. A school can't register for you.
  • Your booking is only confirmed when you get a confirmation email and the appointment shows in your account.
  • The test is only taken at a test centre, in Australia, New Zealand or one of many overseas locations.
  • Pearson emails you within 24 hours of your test with access to your score report.
  • You can sit UCAT ANZ once per test cycle.
