FTCE exam results, score reports and retakes

If your test is all multiple choice, you get an on-site score report before you leave the test center, unless the test is being redeveloped or revised. Official FTCE exam results for every test, including essays and speaking parts, go into your testing account within four weeks of your test date. If you pass, the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) program sends the result to the Bureau of Educator Certification for you. If you don’t, you can retake the test after 31 days.

When do FTCE exam results come out?

The program publishes a score report date for every test week, and reports are posted to accounts after 10:00 p.m. eastern time on that date, a Monday unless marked as a Friday. Tests with an essay, speaking or written performance part follow a separate, later schedule. All scores come within four weeks.

On-site reports can be held back for tests being redeveloped or revised. In October 2026 the program’s on-site reporting chart listed no affected tests. The published schedule runs into January 2027: a multiple-choice test taken December 28, 2026 to January 3, 2027, for example, has a score report date of January 11, 2027.

Who gets your scores

Passing scores go automatically to the Bureau of Educator Certification at the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) on the score report date. Your report also goes to the college, university or Professional Learning Certification Program you chose when you registered. If you didn’t choose one, call customer service before your test to add it, or send your report yourself afterwards.

Score reports from January 2014 onward stay in your account. For older ones, mail the duplicate score report form with $10.

Retaking an FTCE test

Wait 31 calendar days after a test you didn’t pass, or after a score verification session, before you take it again. If you retake too soon, the score is invalidated. There’s no limit on attempts, and a retake gets no extra time. Rule 6A-4.0021 lets you retake a test you passed only after three years, when new competencies are adopted for the field, or when you’re reinstating an expired professional certificate.

What you retake depends on the test:

  • General Knowledge, Elementary Education K-6, Prekindergarten/Primary PK-3, German K-12 and the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE): only the subtests you didn’t pass
  • English 6‑12 and Middle Grades English 5‑9: only the section you didn’t pass
  • Every other test: the whole test

If you already booked a retake while your results were pending, that appointment is canceled, and you rebook only what you didn’t pass.

Is a score verification session worth it?

You can book one if you missed 200 by 10 scale-score points or less, or got NOT PASS on an essay or other performance part. You review the multiple-choice questions you got wrong or your written response and submit scoring challenges. It isn’t a study session: you aren’t shown the right answers, and you can’t change anything.

Register within 30 days of your score report date, and attend within 45 days of it, but no sooner than 31 days after your test. It costs $75, refunded if your score report changes. The FLDOE must reply by email within 30 days of receiving your statement of scoring errors. You can’t book one if you’ve already registered to retake the test.
