Georgia DMV driving record: how to get your MVR

Your Georgia driving record, which many call the DMV record, is a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from DDS. A 3-year report costs $7, and a 7-year or lifetime report costs $9, as DDS listed them in October 2026. You can order 3- and 7-year reports online. The lifetime report is in person or by mail only.

How do you get your Georgia DMV driving record?

  • Online: sign in to DDS Online Services and pay by card. You can view a non-certified report for 30 days and print it.
  • In person: bring an original Motor Vehicle Request Form (DDS-18) to any Customer Service Center. Cash and cards are accepted, but not checks.
  • By mail: send the DDS-18 form or a letter with your full name, license number, date of birth and address, plus a stamped self-addressed envelope, to Georgia Department of Driver Services, MVR Request, P.O. Box 80447, Conyers, GA 30013.

Certified or not

A certified report is printed, certified and mailed to the address you choose, so it can go straight to an employer or insurer. A non-certified one is for your own viewing. Either way, it shows your record on the day it's printed.

Getting someone else's record

You need that driver's signature, and the person picking up the report must show ID. Businesses that need more than 50 reports a month can apply for bulk MVR access.

A note on price

DDS's fee page says MVR prices were set to rise from July 1, 2026, but it doesn't give the new amounts, and its MVR pages still list $7 and $9. Check the price when you order. The DDS 2 GO app also shows 2 years of your history and your points for free.
