Online HiSET classes

HiSET Academy from Essential Education is the online course HiSET names as its official prep provider, with over 200 hours of lessons. i-Pathways, a non-profit at Western Illinois University, is used by adult education programs and sells individual subscriptions. KET’s Fast Forward, from Kentucky Educational Television, also covers HiSET. Ask your local program which of these it uses before you buy one.

When a class is required

In a few places you can’t test without one. Iowa requires adult education instruction for everyone, Palau requires 60 hours, and Guam requires the CASAS Appraisal through its adult education office. Georgia and Louisiana require a program for younger test takers, and official practice tests, which some states require, are only given through adult education.
