A study path built on HiSET’s own materials

1. Read your subtest’s page in the HiSET Test at a Glance to see its time, question count and topics.
2. Take a free half-length practice test and score it with the answer key.
3. Check your score against the “Are You Ready?” chart.
4. Study the content categories you missed, in a class, with a course or with a book.
5. Take a different version of the free test (HiSET lists FPT9, FPT8, FPT7 and FPT6A) and check again.
6. Book the subtest when you reach “Prepared” or “Well prepared”.

Some states require an official practice test before you can book, and those are only given through adult education programs.
