How to get your Utah MVR (driving record)

A Utah MVR, or motor vehicle record, is your driving record from the Driver License Division. It shows reportable arrests and convictions, actions taken against your license, and your license status. You can get it online for $11, or for $8 in an office or by mail, as of October 2026.

What does a Utah MVR show?

Most entries cover the last three years. DUI and drug-related entries cover 10 years. A full driving history, going further back, is available in an office or by mail for $7, and a certified copy under the division's seal by mail only.

How to order your Utah MVR

  • Online: through the division's MVR page, $11.
  • In an office: fill in form DLD 60 for a regular license or DLD 60c for a CDL, $8.
  • By mail: form DLD 60m, $8.

Checking someone else's record

You can only get another person's record if your reason is allowed under the federal Driver Privacy Protection Act. Employers, background check companies and insurers set up a Utah.gov account to search records.

Checking your license status

Your MVR also shows whether your license is valid, suspended or revoked. If you have a suspension, the division's reinstatement page explains what's owed.
