You see this sign as you drive toward a rural crossing. What should you do?
Sample of the written knowledge test: same format, 20 questions.
How close is this Utah permit practice test to the real one?
Same style, shorter. The real written knowledge test is 50 multiple-choice questions if you've never been licensed, all drawn from the Utah Driver Handbook, and you need 40 right. There's no time limit, and the handbook says most people take 30 to 45 minutes.
Some sites sell a '50 question' Utah permit practice test as if it were the real thing. The Driver License Division doesn't publish its question bank, so no practice test is the actual exam. What helps most is knowing the handbook well.
The official practice test
The Driver License Division has its own free practice test online: 30 questions in the format of the real test, scored with feedback, and you can retake it as often as you like. The division says it doesn't cover every question you might get, so use it to check yourself, then go back to the handbook for anything you missed.
