How do you get a Utah state ID?
- Fill in the ID card application online and book an appointment.
- Bring proof of identity and lawful status, proof of your Social Security number, and two proofs of your Utah address dated within 90 days.
- Under 16, bring a parent or legal guardian to sign.
- Have your photo taken and pay the fee. You'll get a temporary card that day.
Who can get one
Only Utah residents. U.S. citizens get a regular ID card. Other people with verified lawful presence get a limited-term ID card. A driving privilege card holder isn't eligible for a Utah ID card.
Can you have a Utah state ID and a driver's license?
No. Utah law doesn't let you hold a driver's license and an ID card at the same time, and you can't hold two REAL ID cards from different states either. If you stop driving, you can hand in a valid Utah license once for a free ID card.
