Questions are spread fairly evenly from classical times to the 20th century, and at least 5-10% draw on African, Asian, Latin American and other cultures. Dates use BCE and CE.
Is there a CLEP art exam?
Not on its own. Art isn’t one of the 34 CLEP subjects, but visual art makes up about a quarter of the Humanities exam, and music, film and dance another quarter. Half of the test is still literature, so you can’t pass it on art alone.
Pace and question types
With about 140 questions in 90 minutes you have well under a minute each. College Board splits them into factual knowledge (50%), recognizing techniques and styles (30%) and interpreting passages and artworks you haven’t seen before (20%).
