ETS also has Chemistry (5246), Physics (5266), General Science (5436), Middle School Science (5442) and Earth and Space Sciences (5572), and states differ on which one a science license needs.

Which science test does your state want?

  • Louisiana: a separate test for biology, chemistry, general science and physics for grades 6-12, and Middle School Science (5442) for grades 4-8. Earth and environmental science needs 30 semester hours instead of a test.
  • Colorado: one Science (6-12) endorsement with General Science (5436), and no separate biology test.
  • New Jersey and Pennsylvania: Biology (5236) for biology.
